2020 Was een bewogen jaar voor mij persoonlijk. Het vroeg veel flexibiliteit, veerkracht, discipline, geduld en een focus op het positieve. De focus op de mooie dingen, de mooie initiatieven en de mooie mensen. Zoals bijvoorbeeld Anne van Woodwerkers of Taru Anne van Slimme Streken die beiden deelnamen aan de Ignite Award. Beiden gedreven sociaal ondernemers met een heldere visie en ambitie om anderen vooruit te helpen. Het soort sociaal ondernemers waardoor je ontroerd raakt omdat je voelt dat wat ze doen oprecht, vanuit het hart en vanuit een overtuigende visie is. Ik was dan ook extra dankbaar dat zij hun dankbaarheid naar mij uitten voor de begeleiding die ik bood en ik ze daadwerkelijk vooruit heb kunnen helpen.

Niet alleen voor mij was het een bewogen jaar, maar voor velen. Het Coronavirus had in het bijzonder grote gevolgen voor groepen die het al moeilijk hadden: arme gezinnen, slachtoffers van huiselijk geweld, dak- en thuislozen, laag geletterden, mensen met een arbeidsbeperking of met GGZ-problematiek. Er heerste ook veel eenzaamheid onder ouderen, maar ook onder jongeren of alleenstaanden. Maar ook initiatiefnemers en initiatieven die zich richten op het helpen van mensen hadden en hebben het moeilijk, zoals sociaal ondernemers.

Gelukkig spreek en zie ik regelmatig mensen of organisaties met een focus op het positieve die anderen willen helpen. Initiatiefnemers van maatschappelijke projecten maar ook bijvoorbeeld fondsen. Dankzij het initiatief en doorzettingsvermogen van mensen en dankzij de hulp van fondsen kunnen maatschappelijke ideeën tot bloei gebracht worden om  de huidige samenleving mooier te maken voor iedereen.

Rondom de coronacrisis ontstonden er in 2020 steeds meer projecten en activiteiten om bepaalde groepen in de samenleving te ondersteunen. Ook het aantal burger- en buurtinitiatieven steeg. Coronahulp groepen ontstonden op verschillende plekken; zowel online als fysiek. Fondsen speelden hier op in door Corona noodfondsen op te starten, zowel lokaal als landelijk. Vaak waren de procedures van fondsen soepeler en sneller om snel hulp te kunnen bieden aan diegenen die dat nodig hadden.

Wel merk ik nog steeds dat mensen niet weten waar ze moeten beginnen wanneer ze een idee hebben dat ze tot bloei willen brengen. Eens zei iemand tegen mij: ‘Ik weet niet waar ik moet beginnen en wat ik als eerste moet doen. Ik krijg er stress van en laat het dan maar zitten’. Ik hoor vaker mensen zeggen dat ze niet weten waar ze moeten beginnen, wat er in een plan moet staan, wat financiers belangrijk vinden om terug te lezen in het plan of hoe uitgebreid het moet zijn. Dit leidt tot uitstelgedrag, stress of onnodig veel tijdsinvesteringen. Anderen hebben al een plan ingediend bij financiers en kregen een afwijzing. Ze vragen zich af wat ze fout doen.

Ik stel ze gerust en maak duidelijk dat het helemaal niet zo ingewikkeld hoeft te zijn met de juiste handvatten. Om deelnemers hierin te ondersteunen, bied ik in mijn trainingen een invulformat aan waarmee ze direct aan de slag kunnen met hun projectplan. Dit geeft ze structuur en houvast. En dat brengt rust en het zet ze in de actiestand. Een deelnemer zei hierover: ‘Ik heb zoveel trainingen gevolgd over fondsenwerving, maar jij biedt het zo praktisch aan dat je meteen aan de slag kunt. Dat format helpt mij heel erg om structuur aan te brengen. Ik weet nu wat financiers willen weten en het zet me in de actiestand.’
